These books will have the sole purpose of being used by each individual student in class while we dive into our Amazon unit. It's a challenge for third graders to read from a book being projected on the board. They lose focus and tend to not comprehend the material as well. Students flourish better when they have their own book in their hand to follow along with. We read several books throughout the school year that correlate with a comprehension packet filled with great skills. My third graders EAT these books up, and they are always begging for the next book. They crave reading, and the Magic Tree House series is always a winner with my students. By having the necessary materials, we can easily integrate fun and engaging science lessons into this unit as well!
