What do you do for the wiggly student who needs to stand and move around a bit while working on a classroom project? Provide a table that's tall enough, with sufficient length for several students at one time, and flexibility for various heights. What do you do with a group of students, collaborating on an assigned project, that requires spreading out all their materials to maximize both their creativity and cohesiveness? Provide a table that is large enough to accommodate all the students' encircling their ideas and supplies while communicating effectively with one another. A long table that can move up and down electrically, would serve a plethora of purposes for all the students using it. We do many projects in my class, both individually and in groups. This electric table would provide equity for all students to fit their respective needs. For the singular students who are more kinesthetic while creating, and need to stand, the table would provide the height needed. For students working collectively on a project, at any height they decide on together, they will be able to spread out their materials while continuing to collaborate on their project.
