Having diverse books in our library allows our students to look at the world through a mirror or sliding glass door. Many books in our library or classrooms ignore a part of the school population. By adding diverse books we add a sense of community and a unity that will bring all together. It will emphasize the fact that we are all the same even though our backgrounds are extremely different. All these books will be available to the entire school through the school library. Furthermore, by providing diverse books to children , we are giving them a wider view of the world, a sense of belonging and representation. Hopefully teach students their experiences are not more important or valid than other classmates. The literature will transform all life experiences and provide all with a sense of belonging. By donating to this cause, it will bring engagement to learners of all types and abilities. All students of the school will have access to all these books through our school library. With this type of access the school climate and unity will be able to soar to a greater, loving level.
