The items that I have selected will help make a difference in my students learning by teaching them how to use their social skills we learn in class by playing games with one another, building with the legos or marble run after they have calmed down, and the putty and fidgets for them to use to be successful during their day.
By providing my students with these tools, they will be able to expand their coping and social skills. With the game of UNO, I can teach my students that some things are unexpected (like getting a draw +2) but we still have to use our coping skills to make sure we are on track. I also included a book set that can help us with many different situations during our school day, weather it be on the playground or in the classroom on how to handle our many emotions. All the different fidgets I can provide to the students to be able to stay in their classrooms longer and be able to work through things that they may struggle with. All of these tools hold a different place in my classroom and teach my students different ways to cope with their daily trials and struggles.
