Connecting with nature and getting exercise is vital to the mental and physical well-being of our economically disadvantaged students. My students love to play and exercise at recess, but the pandemic has made this more challenging because they are not allowed to share equipment at recess. Being able to set up a Frisbee golf course throughout the playground will enable students to maintain social distancing and still exercise and interact with nature at the same time. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase students’ exposure to nature, but you will ultimately help to increase their fitness level. I recently took a small number of Frisbees out for all age groups to explore with at recess. I was amazed at how excited they were to try a new skill and run after the Frisbee to keep trying! I am beyond confident that with these additional resources, my students will love to play Frisbee golf and continue to seek out disc golf courses in the area.
