These books will enrich my students learning, by choosing books that interest them and teach them valuable life skills. "Wonder" is a touching and true story that will resonate with my kiddos. This book follows the life of a fifth grade boy (August Pullman) who was born with facial differences and he is going to be in public school for the first time. We will read "Wonder" and discuss the circumstances that face Auggie and discuss the social and emotional impact him that my students can relate to. "The Wild Robot" is about a robot named Roz who washes up on an island. Roz is challenged with trying to survive in a new environment. My students will learn about STEM and complete many activities to try to understand what Roz is going through. For example, when Roz needs to blend in with her environment they will learn about camouflage and get to create a model for Roz that will blend into different environments.
