Instilling the love for reading is so important at a young age. My hope is to give all my 4th graders a love for reading when they leave my classroom. I love to teach reading through novel studies! This year we read City of Ember and my students fell in love with the story. They were so intrigued by the futuristic idea of a secret city and the end left them at the edge of their seats curious to find out what happens to the people of Ember. I am hoping to be able to buy the second set of books, The People of Sparks, so we can continue on this reading journey. Each day they beg to read an extra chapter. It is a win win, they think they are "just reading" and I know they are LEARNING!
