Help students care about making change, seeing truth, and understanding the importance of good leadership. High school students are nearing the cusp of adulthood and with that, the ability to make a difference and become leaders making positive changes. This is your chance to put influential literature in the hands of our future.
Students will check out a copy of this book from the student book room at EMHS. Once checked out, this book will be read at home by all sophomore students.
Students will study Orwell's argument and the concepts of rhetoric, be introduced to satire, and analyze how leadership affects citizens of communities all over the world.
Even though Animal Farm was written 75 years ago, this book is still relatable to students; and kids truly love seeing the correlations of Orwell's book to their modern world. After reading Animal Farm, students walk away understanding the importance of seeking the truth and fighting for what's right.
Please help fund this project and continue the inspiration of sophomores at E Memorial High School.
