As a middle school teacher, I believe there is no better way to teach than Hands-On. Students can listen to a teacher talk about different concepts and ideas, but how can they learn if they are only watching. Thomas Fuller once said "Seeing is believing, but feeling is the truth." The materials that I am asking for are already a part of my classroom as they will be the key to convert this room into a world full of life. The different models will be placed around the room for students to interact with while they are learning. This will allow my students to not only see the concepts being taught, but to actually work with them as well. The students will be able to witness how things work, how life in nature thrives. Models will be able to assist my students to understand the different lessons of Life Science. The ability to have hands-on instruction, using the materials, will open the minds of my students as they will have the freedom to explore their likes and dislikes about all types of sciences. Every lesson that will be taught will include one of the materials donated. They will make the learning of all the students in this school year, and the rest to come, much more interesting. The materials will also assist home learners as they will be able to actually visualize different models live, instead of videos and power points in their computers. I will have the ability to show them the different models through the camera. This will have a huge impact in their learning, as they will now have ways of connecting to the lessons. My Students will thrive because of the materials, as they won't be seeing to believe, they will be feeling to learn.
