Most of us recognize the benefits of reading. As we read, we find ourselves entering the world described in the pages of a good book. We find ourselves involved with the characters. We gain new insights and ideas. These books will assist my students with social emotional learning by having him/her read literature on this topic. Stories serve as a springboard for discussion and resolution of that dilemma. Direct reading and follow-up activities with an adult provide guidance on social emotional learning topics while working towards academic goals in reading.
