I am a first year teacher starting mid school year in the midst of COVID-19. I will be teaching students with high functioning Autism. The past year has been very challenging for most , and as more students come back into the building, I want them to feel warm and invited back into the classroom. I believe that if a student feels comfortable and safe in their environment they will be more likely to achieve academic success. Though much of my supply list is for the in-person students, I have always enjoyed Scholastic Magazines dating back to my school aged years. I have seen how Scholastic has integrated into digital resources over time, and think it's a great tool for students to learn critical thinking, reading, and comprehension skills. The online resources will greatly benefit all my students regardless if they are virtual or in the classroom. My goal is to enrich my students lives both inside and outside the classroom. Whether that means up to date new's material, or a cozy reading corner. I want to set my students up for success.
