My students on a daily basis come to school hungry and thirsty, but ready to learn. As a teacher, you can only see so many students who come in hungry or thirsty before you want to make a difference in their lives. At the core of the struggle of our daily functioning is a struggle with kids who are coming in hungry or thirsty. I am requesting snacks and water in a variety of flavors. Rather than having to jump over that hurdle every day, we can provide these to them and show them that the community around them wants the success to be a part of their future. The various types of drink will provide my students with regular access to snacks and drinks that they otherwise would not have. Every bit will help our students to focus and earn and gain a positive future.
