Digital galleries give students opportunities to showcase their artwork, digital films and storytelling, Claymation, school announcements, and build school spirit. Students are using technology as a tool to create, reflect, and retell stories; as we move forward in a technological age, this would create an engaging conduit for communicating student knowledge with text, images, audio and video. Having a Smart TV in our school library would enable us to establish a “digital gallery” for displaying student-created films and artwork. Many teachers provide students with opportunities to collaborate and connect content with each other in creating digital storytelling, book talks, and reimagining stories in modern forms by using iMovies and Claymation. The true mark of the success of these digital literacy and art projects is to inspire student enthusiasm and involvement – for the projects, for student camaraderie, and for creative design, STEM learning, film animation, and other arts that are especially important for 21st century learners. All of these projects will utilize the Smart TV showcase and will stimulate student excitement, dedication and school pride.
