Books are powerful, they shape our minds and hearts. They are seeds that grow compassion, kindness and fuel dreams. Books can inspire and help us create empathy and a better future. I want my students to see themselves in the books we read, and also peek into other's experiences. My 4th grade class is proudly bilingual. I teach Hispanic children, and I believe representation matters. At the same time, books can expand our horizons and we can ignite the wildest dreams. The stories I've selected will help us reach that goal.
