My awesome kindergarten students have been learning virtually since the beginning of the year and they are absolutely rocking it! Our school hosts monthly 'material pick-up' days so that teachers can distribute necessary resources so all students can be successful from home. While the school district has been extremely supportive, their are many resources that teachers choose to supply to make the learning experience as authentic as possible. I don't want my students to miss out on some of the most simple (yet essential) kindergarten experiences just because they are learning virtually. My little learners have mastered the use of technology but long for more opportunities to develop fine motor strength. The dry-erase boards and durable sleeves will provide them with the basic tools needed to practice daily writing exercises and stay engaged during virtual lessons. While I look forward to students returning to the classroom, I also know that these materials will come in handy when students are back in the school building. In the past, dry-erase boards, markers and clipboards were often shared between students. In an effort to keep students safe and healthy during the pandemic, we will not longer allow children to share. Therefore each child will need their own resources.
