I teach students with mild to profound disabilities in a program most commonly known as 'Life Skills'. Historically our program has been self-contained with little time spent in the gen-ed setting alongside gen-ed peers. Supporting my projects contributes to my classroom's short and long term goals. Currently, we are working to build connections with peers in our school community in an effort to increase inclusive opportunities for all. Additionally, our student run small business, (Especially Made) promotes independence, creativity, and a multitude of job skills that support opportunities for future employment. All proceeds from Especially Made return to our program and fund group activities, outings, or collectively voted upon items that all students can enjoy.
