Diverse students who come to school to learn, need books that will help inspire them to do and be anything they want to be. Especially my students, who happen to live in Kenosha in the very center of where we are enduring both the riots on their streets that they live on and all-round their school in addition to the pandemic. That is the reality we as teachers face each and every day right now, how best to support them. My students have a need to learn about their ethnicity, and about the history of their families. Often times they struggle to find books that have characters in them who look like them, and who are inspiring. That is where this project helps to fill that gap. Please consider helping me give students what they need to learn about diversity, and also about racism. They need books with characters that are inspiring and motivational. Thank you for considering helping us with this goal! We can't do it without and we want you to know how much we do appreciate it every day.
