In my computer lab we type, code, learn new creative ways to tell our stories, and make sure we do make projects we're proud of - it's a lot to cover in 45-minute sessions! We learn typing three different ways: online typing programs, dictation, and paper to screen. 2nd graders bring their animal reports to my lab to turn into Adobe Spark slideshows, 4th graders have county reports that need typing, and the older grades have printed sentences and paragraphs to practice. Space is limited at each computer station - students must either put their papers in their laps or try to prop them up with their keyboards and monitors, covering half of their monitors in the process. By looking down at their laps and behind their keyboards, they lose their place easily and take much longer to finish their assignments. By having the document holders, students will be able to avoid all of these problems and focus on increasing their learning! By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement and mastery of touch typing. Students will be able to simply focus on their keyboarding skills and the programs they're putting their thoughts into, instead of having the distraction of papers falling to the ground.
