Advanced Placement courses are rigorous, collegiate level courses. I am hoping to help my students become familiar with perspectives different than their own. We are in person, which is good for my poverty-stricken students, and they will benefit greatly by having new books in their hands. These materials will help my students experience the more diverse world around them. I hope to teach them about other groups of people, how the world around them works, and most importantly, compassion and empathy. By adding novels by diverse authors, I'm giving them insight into topics they may not have previously or ever heard about.

About my class
