The use of whiteboards is almost a daily activity in our 1st grade classrooms, especially in phonics and math. The whiteboards allow us to quickly assess students informally to see exactly what they are or are not understanding. It also provides an easy place for them to show and share their work. What becomes a problem is the fact that the markers never seem to last or get lost quickly. Erasers seem to disappear, and the whiteboards need to be cleaned frequently. Due to the recent CDC guidelines with COVID, students are no longer allowed to share items with their classmates when they are needed. Each child needs to have a set of their own materials to be used daily. By having LCD writing tablets for each child in the grade level, students will be able to avoid all of these problems and focus on increasing their learning safely! By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase the academic achievement for ALL first graders at our school!
