In 6th grade science, we learn about living things. We begin by exploring how living things are made of cells which make up tissues which then make up organs which then combine in organ systems. Dissections are one of the most stereotypical labs you can do in science and truly engage the students and help them really see what they have been learning about. Every year that I have taught at Heartland, my students have asked me if we would do any dissections. I would sadly have to tell them no because we do not have the equipment. But with your generous donation, I can make this happen for them this year! With COVID making learning more challenging for so many of my students, I would love to engage them with a dissection towards the end of the school year.
