It's always the simple things that matter the most. The essential tools we need to promote engagement in remote learning aren't vast for my first grade students. Whiteboards are always a quick fun way to check for student understanding while stylus pens help them to annotate responses on their monitors and key pads efficiently. Composition notebooks and primary paper guide the learners to correct letter formation and sentence structure while creating evidence of learning in an organized way. Crayons and white paper promote creativity for graphic organizers, number/picture stories and artistic creations to be shared as a class or a discussion in a break out room.
