Perrine’s Literature 13th Edition includes everything students need to know to prepare for the AP Literature and Composition exam. It has a comprehensive anthology of both modern and classical literature along with detailed explanations of the elements of poetry and fiction and excellent descriptions of all the literary devices that students need to learn. My students would feel more valued and motivated if they had these appropriate, high-quality textbooks. Although we do have a few copies of Perrine’s Literature ninth edition textbooks from 2006, most of them are unfortunately falling apart. I have only five copies of the newer books in which the content is more applicable to the rigorous, college-level standards of the class and the exam.
