We simply want to put engaging books in the hands of our students. Our English Department is writing several Donors Choose grants to buy books for our students. We'd like to give them a Valentine in the form of a book that they can love, read, and re-read. It's so challenging for students to learn at home now and we, as educators, often feel the need to connect further. What better way than with a book? I've selected two titles on character development and literacy to buy in bulk. Madeleine L'Engle's A Wrinkle in Time and A Wind in the Door. As Hardy's theatre teacher, I am consistently looking for my students to see Character Development in action. A Wrinkle in Time was made into a major motion picture and students can see these characters come to life through the book and then in performance. It's the first book of a quintet and will hopefully motivate students to keep reading! We are hoping to get these books in our students' hands by Valentine's Day! Thank you in advance for your help and support!
