This is my first year teaching high school students. I have several students who need fidget toys or items to help them focus. I currently have one exercise ball that circulates around the whole classroom. I would love to provide more seating options for the students. This year has been very tough with students having to social distance, which keeps them seated longer than I would like. The cushions can provide a calming feeling and fulfill sensory seeking needs. Preparing students for the workforce means teaching professionalism. Personal hygiene is a key component for both school and work. Not having the basic necessities to help maintain personal hygiene can hinder school work, attitude, and chances of getting a job. Providing students with hygiene necessities can help eliminate the worry of not having basic care items and allow them to focus on their education and next steps.
