I teach kindergarten in a high needs, high poverty, Title I school. In a normal year I have many books in the classroom that I lend students for at home reading. This year is not a typical year. My school district will be virtual until at least March 15. With that said, the students in my class have limited access to books at their beginner reading level. I am proud to say that my learners are eager about learning to read. They are motivated and work hard in this non-traditional setting. I have supplied them with a few paper copies of decodable books, however they are black and white and have limited text with uninteresting story lines. In all honesty, they are boring! Donating to this project will help get "just right" leveled books into the hands of beginning readers! The books you'd be helping purchase are colorful and entertaining. My students deserve access to these books. With your support they can have books that they are excited to read. With your help they will grow as readers! You are appreciated. Thank you for helping my students!
