The students in my class come from large families who live with multiple generations under one roof. The pandemic has created a lot of hardship and sadness for families and our school has been in distance learning since March of 2020. I have spent hundreds of my own dollars trying to motivate and encourage two classrooms over nine months by sending packages through the mail. My resources are limited so having basic supplies to give my students would enrich their learning experience since many don’t have the basics. Since our student population is greatly English language learners, many students don’t have books in their homes and could greatly benefit from reading actual stories with family members.
