Predominantly, our students and our community are poor. Many students work part-time jobs to help out with the basic essentials for their family. Many struggle just to pay rent, eat and provide clothing. Consequently, our athletics programs are severely underfunded and we have a difficult time generating revenue from the community to fund our athletic endeavors. Although many of our students fundraise, realistically many have trouble finding donors because of the poor socioeconomic area. Our students are hardworking, deserving, and already participate in fundraisers that go towards purchasing new jerseys and trips to football camps.
