I am requesting food which will help bridge the gap of hunger among students experiencing homelessness. One-fourth of the students in our school are currently experiencing financial hardship leading to inadequate housing and food insecurity. Your support with these meal alternatives, drinks, and snacks will help meet the basic needs of our students. Hungry children cannot learn. Our students in temporary housing often worry about where they will sleep and whether they will have a meal. This is a greater barrier than ever due to the pandemic, where families continue to be impacted by housing and food insecurity. Help me bridge the gap of hunger for our inner-city children by eradicating this barrier to academic success and overall developmental well-being.
