You will notice that my project is made up almost entirely of BOOKS! Second grade students are at the age where they begin to find what they love. Hobbies, sports, movies, friends, and most importantly-books. My students attend school in a small town- there are roughly 800 kids in the entire school (PreK-12th grade), so you can imagine how limited they are in their choices of clubs and groups. Books offer an escape, a broader mindset, and a love for life and reading. Help my students dive into stories and see a world bigger than their own. I’m also trying to fund a large rug so that we have a colorful place in the classroom to gather as one and learn.
