Books will be sent home on a weekly basis for English Language Learning students to read aloud nightly to their grownups. This will ease parental fears and enable parents to understand what their child is reading to them. It will facilitate discussions about the book. They can be read aloud in English by the student and the parent can read aloud to the child in their preferred language. Many parents worry their child is losing a native language. This provides a way to honor culture and involve families in the school community.
