Reading can be learned and practiced in many different ways. One way to become a more fluent reader is through reading and singing the lyrics to songs students enjoy. Accompanied by the ukulele! Let's read while we sing! Let's sing while we read! In our class we sing every morning at the beginning of the day to welcome each student by name. We use social emotional learning techniques every moment of the day. We sing during the day! When the school day is about to end we sing a song to say "See you tomorrow!" In our classroom we sing while we play the ukulele. At first only the teacher played. Then students said, "I want to play the ukulele too!" It's wonderful! We need ukuleles for the students to play. Thank you!
