Literacy Bags will maintain/increase achievement through the summer months for our youngest struggling readers. These bags will allow students to access skill-appropriate books and literacy resources that will enrich their reading experiences. Students will be able to hear books read aloud to them and be able to read and reread the books themselves. These materials will provide an alternative to screen time and will encourage parents to interact with their child. Because access to books alone may not make a strong impact on learning, information for parents will be included. Parents will be able to monitor and guide their child's comprehension as well as support vocabulary development.
