The end of the school year wouldn't have been the same without it! I can't wait to introduce this awesome spelling tool to my new class of 2nd graders. Not only is it a fun and engaging way to practice their spelling patterns, but they can also gift their friends with the tokens they earn from playing the games. This has created an empathetic community in our classroom. \r\nAs a teacher, this program is very beneficial as it allows me to set appropriate spelling lists for each child, yet they still get to play the same games and activities other classmates do. Who would have guessed that sticky dinosaur pencil clings, basketball fidgets, and doodle boards would be so motivating to kids who are trying to improve their reading skills. My students work every day to earn stickers to fill their charts and earn a prize. One of the biggest goals they are working on is increasing the number of words they can read correctly in a minute. One second grade student started at 52 words in early November and read 80 words today! She is only 3 words away from her end of year goal. \r\n\r\nThis student is showing fantastic motivation and growth in her reading skills! She is just one example. The new prize system has clearly been a positive influence, encouraging my students to work diligently towards their reading goals. Their progress is impressive, especially the significant increase in words read per minute by many of them. Students are well on their way to achieving, and potentially exceeding, their end-of-year reading goals.","fullyFundedDate":1734385775775,"projectUrl":"project/reading-is-its-own-reward/8941633/","projectTitle":"Reading is Its Own Reward!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Tercha","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp599968_orig.jpg?crop=3000,3000,x0,y500&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1731522553080","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/599968"},{"teacherId":351338,"projectId":8636388,"letterContent":"Thank you for your donations.
