My students attend continuation high school. Due to truancy and/or other counterproductive behaviors, all of them fell behind at traditional comprehensive high schools and are at risk of not graduating on time. Most are from low income, single parent homes and have experienced limited activities outside of school. Some of our students are teen parents. Our school gives them the opportunity to earn credits at an accelerated rate and to graduate with their class. Many of our students have low reading comprehension skills and respond best to hands-on activities. We are a small school with little funding. We need equipment to help us make accurate weather observations.
