People of all ages and walks of life often struggle with their self esteem; our students are no exception. One of the major factors, especially at this age is related to how you are dressed. Think back to what it was like when you were in the 4th or 5th grade. It is hard to concentrate if you are cold or embarrassed because your clothes don't fit properly or they are dirty or because you have had an accident either in the cafeteria or in the restroom. Your donation can change that by allowing us to purchase clothes (sweatpants, hoodies, long sleeve t-shirts, belts and underwear) of all different sizes for both boys and girls to keep here at school and distribute as needed. In the past, we have received used clothing donations but unfortunately, it is often times not the sizes that we need or does not meet dress code or is not seasonally appropriate. Your financial donations will allow us to start our clothing closet so that we may assist the students to quickly change when needed and return to their classroom ready to meet the challenges of the day instead of waiting/hiding in the nurse's clinic hoping that someone will be able to either bring them some clothes or that they are one of the lucky few that is the same size as something that was donated. Thank you in advance for helping the LCI Bears with the Necessities of life by stocking our clothing closet to meet the needs of our students.
