These materials will help challenge my students and aid them in becoming better readers. Students need exposure to literature and a variety of books and words to help build their vocabulary. The primary grades are critical grades, in which students will develop a love for learning when exposed to books that appeal to their interests. First grade students love read-alouds and this would allow me to read 1-2 stories daily and also have enough books left over for students to read independently. This project will help many students in the future, as they can be reused year after year.
