The books will be used for a class novel study. Each student having their own copy of the book will allow students to follow along as I read the book a loud to them. The books will provide access to the reading content and support unique learning needs of each student. Students will have the opportunity to practice reading skills and engage in discussions about the text. This will support struggling readers in analyzing and comprehending the text. While also encouraging students to use their words and engage in discussions with peers. Students will learn important story elements such as, the characters, the setting, the plot, the theme etc. Upon completing the novel, students will watch the original movie and compare/contrast the book and movie.
