It is difficult for students to perform at maximum level when they are hungry. These snacks will provide students with something prior to leaving school due to lack of or not enough food at home. I hear too many times they are hungry and did not eat prior to attending the next morning. We are a Title One, behavioral modification school and most of these students live in economically challenge neighborhoods, providing snacks is an excellent incentive. The first challenge teachers have is teaching replacement behavior. Utilizing snacks as a positive reinforcement will increase behavioral change correctly.
