All students deserve a quiet and comfortable location for learning, whether they are in a physical classroom or learning remotely from home. Fortunately, the heating and cooling vents in my classroom work very well and provide a comfortable environment. Unfortunately, our physical comfort comes at the expense of a quiet environment since the vents blow so hard, they sound like a 747 jet taking off! This obviously makes communication in our classroom quite challenging at times. Students are noticeably more engaged in lessons when they can clearly hear each and every word from their teachers. With the Lightspeed wireless microphone and speaker system, my co-teacher and I will be able to ensure that all students hear and understand us regardless of where we are located in the classroom, and regardless of whether they are in class or joining us remotely during our hybrid classes. We will still be able to circulate throughout the room to help engage students in-person, without worrying about losing our remote students. Once we have control of this pandemic and hopefully, return to full-time in-person teaching, this system will continue to benefit students for years to come. Even if our vents quiet down in the future, all students, especially ones with any hearing loss, will benefit greatly from your generosity. Thank you!
