Listening--- almost a lost skill! Most hear but don't really listen for details and what is not said. As a math teacher of 8th graders in a virtual environment, my students are charged with being problem solvers, critical thinkers at home and in school. These scholars must listen to learn and listen to communicate effectively. Students are challenged with distractions, ordinary sounds interrupt learning. Even if momentarily, the break-in concentration is sometimes hard to overcome, especially when calculating or formulating ideas. Headphones will eliminate these interruptions and increase communication via listening.
