I have 33 students who all have very different significant disabilities, needs, and goals. I am both in the building facilitating students who are there in a hybrid cohort and I am also facilitating students who are at their homes learning through the virtual setting (simultaneously). In order for myself to assist on working on their specific educational goals in a more one on one setting that they are traditionally used to, I break my students up between myself and my paraprofessionals. Unfortunately, the technology I currently have, makes working in small groups or in breakout rooms very difficult. The Apple technology has so many extensions that cater to students with disabilities. My students are already so limited in what they can accomplish independently and given this pandemic component, students like them specifically are suffering a great loss not receiving the true instruction they deserve. This particular laptop will allow myself and my paraprofessionals the ability to interact with our student population more effectively, differentiate more appropriately, and challenge our students. This added instructional technology and skill reinforcement will help our students grow and be able to generalize new skills across multiple environments.
