Most of our students come from homes where they are not sure where their next meal will come from. So while they are a school we have the opportunity to make sure they get a healthy breakfast and lunch but we can't go home with them to make sure they have meals there. So we do the next best thing by sending home food pantry bags with a variety of food to help sustain them over the weekend. For many of our students, this is a highlight of their week, because they know they will have food in the pantry for the weekend. This helps them come to school on Monday ready to learn. Because we know that if a students physical needs are not met, we will not be able to work on the academic needs. We work with a Food Bank that provides us with great food, but we are needing the bags to send the food home in. Most of our students either ride a bus or walk so having bags that are easy to carry is a huge help for them. With using the reusable bags they are able to bring them back so that we can refill them and send them back home the next week.
