Hello! I am a first grade distance learning teacher, and in the midst of all of the changes, I want to make learning fun and engaging, while also keeping those social connections a top priority in our virtual classroom! A document camera and an extra screen would help so much and it would allow me to be efficient in my work as well as see the students' faces more often on Zoom calls while using the monitor to pull up slideshows and images. Teaching first grade over Zoom sure has brought its challenges, so I am excited to provide the students with lots of hands-on materials that will help with their fine motor and academic skills! The document camera would allow for us to work through phonics practice, writing, small group reading groups, and math games and activities rather than doing everything on a computer, and it would give me an opportunity to guide students who are struggling and who need an extra challenge! The dice and cards have been very helpful in the past for math and phonics games, but as a newer teacher, I don't have the materials to provide these for the students. Thanks for your help!
