What is motivating for one artist may not be motivating to another. It is important to offer a variety of mediums for student-directed art-making. As more studio centers are made available for students creating the natural curiosities of play occur. Students are encouraged to stretch and explore their own ideas in a medium of their choosing. This year having an abundance of supplies is even more important to our artists. After student use, the supplies undergo a "quarantine" period in which that supply will not be available for a time period. The students have been very responsible and understanding to only take what will be used. I think with more supply choices their creativity will take off and their anxieties about being in the classroom will decrease- as we are mindful about safety but ultimately having fun.
