Being an agriculture teacher, I have the opportunity to work with many students who thrive when they are allowed to use their hands and minds together to accomplish a task. My small gas engines class is one where students will learn the basics of a small gas engine, identify parts, disassemble and reassemble, as well as troubleshooting. The skills they learn in this class are ones that they can take with them to solve problems at home, or to a job in the future. The tools that are currently available for students to use are outdated and missing many important pieces. The tool sets I am requesting will allow students to engage by working in smaller groups with their own tools. These tools will also provide more hands-on time for each individual student. Student's will learn the value of organization through being responsible for their own tool set. Having these tools will also allow more students to participate in the class.
