The books selected for our class library will allow my first graders to experience diverse authors and characters that look like them. I will use the acrylic shelves on our front whiteboard to display books and have conversations around them in our classroom. The math tools will support our small group math lessons. The pocket chart will support students in counting from 1 to 120 with ones, twos, fives, and tens. Having rekenrek's available for each student in small group allows me to focus more time on subject matter rather than grabbing for different manipulatives.
