Enter my middle school classroom, and you'll see students in constant motion - wiggling, rocking, bouncing, or tapping. They often can't help themselves because of hormonal changes. I have found that movement helps keep my students alert and focused. Last year, I received through Donors Choose a few flexible seating options and was amazed and thrilled at how much they helped my fidgety students, keeping them happy and comfortable, relaxed and focused. More bouncing balls, wiggle seats, and floor cushions will give my students the freedom to move the way their bodies need while keeping them focused. I would like to add additional seating options for more of my students. Class sizes for my 7th grade English classes can reach 30 plus students and currently only a handful have the option for flexible seating.
