I would like to be able to offer Breakout sessions to my 3rd through 5th grade classes. I currently do Breakout sessions with students in kindergarten through second grade and they love it! I do not have enough supplies to be able to offer this experience to all the students. I typically need 3 kits per session. I currently have 6 kits which allows me to only focus on the lower grades. Breakout Sessions allow students to work, as a team, to solve problems. The answer to the problem is typically the combination to a lock on a box. When students solve all the problems they would “breakout”. Throughout the session the students have to work as a team while using problem solving skills. Problem solving, grit, creativity, critical thinking and teamwork are all life long lessons that the students use to successfully complete the Breakout session. The unique part of doing a Breakout session is that Breakout sessions can be on any topic and for any grade level.
