The students in our class generally have CBI field trips where we go out into the community and experience "real life." However, during this time in our nation, our students are too high risk to be walking around grocery stores, malls, museums, or going to gyms. Our students are not getting the active lifestyle they need during the day to stay moving and focused. Also, because of the pandemic, students all have to have their own materials and cannot share. So when we take active breaks to stretch and get exercise, we are doing this on the hard classroom floor. I think it would be fantastic for the kids to have their own mats and spaces to be able to express themselves and be active.
